What you get on a county page
- The full report list — every date, time, hail size, peak gust and the narrative the spotter filed.
- Filters that actually narrow it down — by year, by month, by minimum hail size, or free-text search on a town name or date.
- Seasonality — which months and years produced the storms, so you can see whether a given week was unusual.
- Worst storm days — the dates that generated the most reports, with the largest hail each day.
Where the data comes from
Everything here is drawn from the NOAA NCEI Storm Events Database, a U.S. government public-domain archive of storm reports collected by the National Weather Service. We parse the raw CSV releases and reorganise them by county and date — we do not add, estimate or infer any value. See about the data for the limits of this archive before you rely on it.
Reference only. Storm reports are preliminary eyewitness data with real gaps, and hail sizes are estimates. Do not use this site for insurance claims, legal filings, or roof and property assessments.
