Privacy policy
Last updated: 20 October 2026.
The short version
HailByDate has no accounts, no logins and no newsletter. We do not ask you for your name, email address or location, and there is nothing to sign up for. Every page is free to read.
What is collected
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data — IP address, user agent, URL requested, timestamp — to serve pages and block abuse. We do not use it to build a profile of you.
- Aggregate analytics. We measure page views and how long visitors stay, in aggregate, to decide which pages to improve. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors.
- Filter settings. The year, month and hail-size filters on a county page run entirely in your browser. Those choices are never sent to us.
Advertising
This site is supported by advertising. Ad networks we work with may set cookies or similar identifiers on your device, and may use them to show you more relevant ads — including ads based on your past visits to this and other websites. Those networks act as independent controllers of the data they collect; we do not receive your personal data from them.
You can opt out of personalised advertising at youronlinechoices.com (EU), optout.aboutads.info (US), or Google Ad Settings where Google ads are shown. Browser-level controls for blocking third-party cookies work here too.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it deleted, or to object to its processing. Because we hold no accounts, the most we normally hold is a server log entry. Write to us via contact and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
